THANK YOU!

Literacy Suffolk is proud to have been awarded $5,000 from the Make Your Pitch for Education grant co-sponsored by Entercom and BNB Bank.

We had a great time at the ceremony where we got to meet spokesperson Tyler Austin formerly of the Yankees and all the sponsors of the grant.

We also toured WFAN and WINS radio station. We are so grateful for this award which will be used toward financial literacy workshops for parents and children.

Our annual fundraiser at 89 North Music Venue in Patchogue was a huge success.  A heartfelt thank you to all the restaurants and businesses that donated gift cards and items for our raffles.  The staff, board and volunteers of Literacy Suffolk appreciate your support and recognition of our efforts in serving the needs of our community.

Dear Volunteers,
Just a few words about the current situation. The Suffolk Cooperative Library System building where Literacy Suffolk is located is closed; therefore, our office is closed for at least the next 2 weeks. We are available by email for any questions you might have.
As I write this, many if not all libraries are closed; therefore, your face to face tutoring sessions are cancelled. It is best for all, especially if you are at high risk, to physically distance yourself from unnecessary social contact. With that said, it is a shame to lose the momentum with your students. If you are able, you might consider using Skype , or FaceTime to meet with your student.  DUO is another possibility that is available to those with a gmail account. If you’re not sure what to do, Google or find a YouTube video to help.  You can email us as well and we will do our best to help.

Let us know if you choose to do this and how it is working for you.
The most important thing to us is the safety and well-being of our volunteers, students and staff, so please take care of yourselves.

We will get through this together, and we will keep you updated if anything changes.
The staff and board of directors of Literacy Suffolk appreciate everything you do for your students and the organization, and look forward to going back to normal as soon as possible.
Warm regards,
Susan
