2019 began on a sad note for Literacy Suffolk and for everyone who ever knew or met Gini Booth.

Gini, who spent the last 20 years of her life devoted to Literacy Suffolk – the last 12 of which as our Executive Director – died after bravely battling various health issues for the last couple of years.

Her dedication and devotion to Literacy Suffolk as well as to her family and friends was an inspiration to us all.

While she will be missed, her accomplishments and influences will endure. Gini truly made the world a better place.

On November 18, 2018, we celebrated Literacy Suffolk’s 40th anniversary at 89 North Concert Venue in Patchogue.

Guests from 2 years old to … rocked out to the sounds of Penny Lane the super talented Beatles tribute band.

Friends of Literacy Suffolk enjoyed the multicultural culinary delights donated by restaurants around Suffolk County and tried their luck and the awesome raffle basket donations.

We are so pleased to have celebrated with old and new friends and can’t wait to do again next year!

A Note From The Executive Director!

Thank you Glen Rohrbacker for taking these wonderful pictures

Literacy Suffolk is 40!!!

Literacy Suffolk is proud to have been awarded $5,000 from the Make Your Pitch for Education grant co-sponsored by Entercom and BNB Bank.

We had a great time at the ceremony where we got to meet spokesperson Tyler Austin formerly of the Yankees and all the sponsors of the grant.

We also toured WFAN and WINS radio station. We are so grateful for this award which will be used toward financial literacy workshops for parents and children.
